. One of the main reasons for the rising cost of these events is the increased demand for them. As more and more people take up running and triathlon as a way to keep fit and challenge themselves, the number of participants in these events has grown significantly. This has led to an increase in the cost of organizing the events, as organizers need to provide more facilities and resources to cater to a larger number of participants.Another factor contributing to the rising cost of marathons and triathlons is the cost of the equipment and gear required to participate in these events. According to her estimation, running a race may cost several hundred pounds, which might be prohibitive for many people, especially given the current economic situation.Lee Smith, a different competitor in the Newport marathon, is running in memory of his twin brother Dean, who passed away in a terrible car accident at the age of 30.
